Gavriel E. Soriano Announces Candidacy for U.S. House of Representatives in Florida’s 14th Congressional District

TAMPA, FL – Today, Gavriel E. Soriano formally announces his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives, representing Florida’s 14th Congressional District. Citing an inflection point for the district, state, and nation, the campaign is built on a platform of secured representation, government accountability, and fundamental dignity for every American.

“Our district, our state, and our nation are at a crossroads,” said Soriano.  “Across the country, Americans are demanding accountability, fairness, and representation that truly reflects the sacrifices and contributions of everyday people.  I am running for Congress because I believe leadership must once again be rooted in responsibility, dignity, and a clear respect for those we serve.”

The campaign is structured around three core principles:

  1. Secured Representation for All: Soriano asserts that no American community should be an afterthought, highlighting the status of the people of Puerto Rico. “U.S. citizens from Puerto Rico have served honorably in every major American conflict since World War I and have made immense contributions to our nation in science, medicine, and national security. And yet, they remain without full representation in Congress. A democracy cannot tolerate second-class citizenship.”

  1. Government Accountability as the Foundation of a Strong Economy: The campaign seeks to shift the political focus from the size of government to its effectiveness. “For too long, the debate has been about whether the government spends too much or too little, while avoiding the more important question: how effectively is taxpayer money being used? Waste, inefficiency, and misaligned priorities hurt working families, undermine affordability, and erode trust. Accountability is not about expanding or dismantling government, it is about making it honest, fair, and effective.”

  1. A Belief in Dignity for Every American: Central to the campaign’s philosophy is the principle of “Everyone a King.” “This means no American should lack representation, no family should be forced into impossible choices by broken systems, and no citizen should feel powerless in their own country. Leadership exists to serve the people, not the other way around.”

In the coming days, Soriano will be releasing detailed campaign content across social media platforms to further outline this vision and invite public engagement. The candidate also issued an open invitation to community leaders and organizations.

“I respectfully ask everyone to stay tuned, share, and engage as this campaign unfolds,” Soriano added. “I welcome the opportunity to speak with your organization, attend meetings, and discuss how we can work together to strengthen representation and accountability in Florida’s 14th District.”
